Erick was born and raised in the high desert of Southern Idaho. After graduating with honors from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Erick attended Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College. During his time in Portland, he practiced as a Certified Legal Intern with Metropolitan Public Defender Services, Inc. and developed a passion for criminal defense and the plight of the accused.
Upon graduating in 2000, Erick married an Oregon girl and they moved to Santa Monica, California, where Erick started a criminal defense practice. Erick quickly established himself as a trial lawyer and his devotion to his clients made the beachside practice a successful one for eight years. After a few visits to Bend, however, Erick and family decided to return to Oregon for good to enjoy life outdoors and be closer to family.
Erick is happily married and the proud father of two young sons. He enjoys skiing, birdwatching, volunteering, sustainable living, a good crossword puzzle and, most of all, spending time outdoors with his family.
Erick is admitted to the state and federal courts in Oregon, Idaho and California. He is a member of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Deschutes County Bar Association, and the American Institute of Criminal Defense Attorneys.
